A Whole Host of Byrne

Amazing. An honestly brilliant night - one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Pure dead brilliant!

Helped in no small measure by the brilliance of David Byrne and his entourage of idiosynchrasies personified - I believe if he wanted to be anyone or anything on the night of his performance, then he created 'them' - his 3 dancers, his 3 singers, his musicians, his costumes, his choreography. It was undoubtedly a celebration of self, one's ideas and desires, performed to a very appreciative and gratefully reciprocative audience. Many folks mouthed lyrics that had particular meaning for them, most of the audience were out of their seats clapping and dancing, and on more than one occasion during the performance - starting with Mr. Byrne merely coming on stage - he got standing ovations all round.

In other gigs I've been transported, emotionally blown about, captivated, inspired, physically moved, but in this I was all of the above plus inspired purely to remember the fun part of what it is to be an artist and aim to do something different. 'Get to the Point Davie!'

I'm gushing now, I'm going to stop. But Mr Byrne is a wee genius so he is. I bet his h-yowge extended family were very proud.
